2014

I'm here! I camein December, a whole month early (much to mom and dad's surprise), and as such got to spend a few extra days in the hospital to make sure I was every bit as healthy as I looked. Good news- I am!

Though I came early enough to be considered "pre-mature", I by no means look the part. I weighed in at an impressive 6 lbs and measured 19 inches long, and I have dark, thick, curly hair!

I also have a really cool family name....

James-  is my great-great-great-grandfather's name, who lived in Snowflake, AZ. His brother was named Charlie, too!

Franklin- is my daddy's and great-grandpa's middle name

They are very hard-working and good men. As for nicknames, my daddy is really pushing for "Bubba", because all the James's he knows are big guys. Good thing I have time to grow into the name!

My days have already been filled with visits from loved ones, kisses and hugs from my big brother, and tummy time. What a great life!

Announcing ... James Franklin Johnson!

Tis the end of ‘14, and all through the year,

We’ve been busily stirring something something cheer.

Charlie’s perfected the art of sprinting around;

And finding hidden treasures to eat off the ground.

Marc serves as Stake President here in Tempe,

As well as current President of Tempe South Rotary.

With all going on in his life currently,

We are most excited he’s now a CFP.

To keep these two going, Alex strives to decipher,

So she launders, and dishers, and changes the diapers.

Since life’s quieted down this year, or so it seems,

We’re welcoming a baby boy in 2015!

So this holiday season, we wish with our might-

“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

Merry Christmas!

Love, the Johnson Family

Our very own C.F.P.

He passed! Marc took the Certified Financial Planner exam in November, and officially found out he passed in December. You can imagine the proud wife and son waiting at home to hear the great news!

Congratulations, Marc!

It's a... 'nother boy!!

In September we found out we're having another baby boy, which means a cute little brother for Charlie!

Charlie turns 1!

As Charlie was born close Pioneer day in July, (the time of year the Johnson family makes the pilgrimage to Snowflake) he was able to celebrate turning 1 with family all around! He enjoyed the Snowflake parade, and was far more interested in watermelon than cake. His favorite present is that he is going to be a big brother!

In April, we traveled up to Salt Lake with Mom and Dad to enjoy the April Conference. It was Alex's first time on Temple Square for conference, and she was able to go to all 4 sessions in the Conference Center! We had a wonderful time and returned home uplifted from the weekend.

In July, we decided to beat the heat by driving ourselves up to the mountains- to Utah! We enjoyed spending time with family and visiting good friends. Charlie made for an excellent travel companion all the trip long, and we had a great time searching for prime photo-ops!

Up to Utah ... Twice!

President Marcus Johnson

On January 26th, 2014, Marc was called and set apart as the Tempe Arizona Stake President. Shortly thereafter, he led the stake in celebrating its 50th anniversary! His sentiment continues to be:  "Tempe Stake has built a strong foundation the last 50 years, and we are excited to build upon that foundation in the next 50 - and on. I believe in Tempe, and there is room for growth in our energy outputs and our efforts to serve."

His focus in the Tempe stake focuses on the foundation of Jesus Christ for our testimonies, as found in Helaman 5:12. Our anchors to build on that foundation are: personal prayer, personal scripture study, family prayer and scripture study, weekly family home evening, attending the temple often, and fulfilling our church callings.

As a family, we are so blessed by this calling as it has helped us focus our priorities on: God, Family, Work, and serving in the kingdom. We are amazed at how intimate and sacred our family time has become, and value our precious moments together.

Marc's favorite response received in relation to the news has been: "God bless you, we'll pray for you."

As it turns out, this will be a busy season for us, as Marcus is also serving as President of the Tempe South Rotary Club and is President Elect for the Financial Planning Association of Greater Phoenix!
